TXUT is exempt from licensure and the jurisdiction or purview of the commission pursuant to Texas Education Code, Section 132.002 (a)(2) as a state-authorized (rather than regionally accredited) theological institution.

Our purpose is to prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, and laypersons in the category of theology. We do not offer secular studies in math or sciences. Because of this, TXUT is NOT accredited by the United States Department of Education Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved accrediting agency.
Florida Department of Education
TXUT is authorized to operate and grant degrees by the Florida Department of Education’s Commission for Independent Education, under Florida Statute 1005.06(1)(f). Its purpose is to prepare students for religious vocations as ministers, and laypersons in the category of theology.
REAP International exists to make disciple-makers in every nation, teaching them to be worshipers in Spirit and in Truth by (1) launching an online discipleship school in every language possible; (2) by establishing college level cohorts in every nation possible; and (3) by maintaining communications through at least four levels of disciples.

TXUT is a member of the Academic Council for Educational Accountability (ACEA), Colorado Springs, CO.
International Association of Bible Colleges & Seminaries
As a member of VITEN, TXUT is a recognized member of the International Association of Bible Colleges & Seminaries (IABCS).
The studies offered by Texas University of Theology are not in competition with the secular field of training or employment.
Texas University of Theology was established to train men and women of God and equip them with the tools necessary to be mature, productive, and functioning parts of the local Body of Christ.
Texas University of Theology is a non-profit corporation located in the state of TX.
TXUT is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501c3 of the US Internal Revenue Code.
